William Destin is a senior Executive Officer and Founder of FONDESCH, Inc. He previously worked in consulting firm. Cuban-Haitian Refugee Service, government agencies that provide humanitarian, unaccompanied minor consulting services, support other corporations and non-profit organizations.

 He consults regularly with executives from a variety of fields to help create solutions to world-impacting refugee problems in America. Prior to his current position, he created and led the HACOS of Atlanta (Haitian American Community Service of Atlanta) and support the refugee programs, service and strategy team since 1992 after completing his training at the Catholic University of America in Washington D.C.

Born and raised in Port-au-Prince Haiti, Mr. Destin now lives in a little city called Conyers, GA.  Mr. Destin is always trying to help people in the rural community of Haiti or in the state as well gain work skills and find good jobs enables them to ultimately achieve all of their own dreams.”  With that philosophy in mind, Mr. Destin has continually looked for ways to expand FONDESCH services to more people in the rural community, from downsized career professionals to at-risk students in community schools to people with disabilities.

 

Destin has also worked as an agent with numerous federal, state and county agencies to address shortfalls in services to asylum seekers and youth with behavioral problems, including women victims of domestic violence and refugee community around the Atlanta metropolitan area.

Destin served as a program specialist for the Operation Sea Signal JTF-160 in Guantanamo Bay Cuba. Destin also served as panelist/ cultural diversity trainer for the Annual Georgia Law Enforcement Convention in Jekyll Island, GA and trained many graduate police officers working with mote than 28 affiliated police agencies across Georgia. He has also reached out to the community, forming successful partnerships with agencies like the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, detention, court and State Department of Rehabilitation to provide support services to juvenile delinquent waiting for trail and The Bridging the Gap Project, Inc. a COPE Program in Atlanta ( Community Oriented Policing Education)

Mr. Destin also took the non-profit world in a new direction with the launch of FONDESCH, Inc. (Foundation for the development education and support children in Haiti) a not-for-profit that provides community support that grew out of initiative that provided business training to people in the remote area.. Mr. Destin understands and  adopts the way of the future, for a non-profit is to survive in today’s competitive market, is to act and think like a business, and find new ways to support his social service work without relying solely on private donations and foundation support.”

 

Since his High School graduation Destin has been working with non-profit organization and communities for over 30 years, helping people achieve independence and stability.

 He is a Fine Art Major and Child Development Stages Expert, a Social Worker (LSW),  a former Law Enforcement Officer and an Accomplished Musician. “His exceptional work exemplifies how one organization like FONDESCH can make a profound difference in the lives of many children and their families in his homeland.”
